SUPPORT A PROVINCE
Two and half million disabled people in Vietnam are living under poverty. In almost every province of Vietnam, there are disabled people living in daily needs to improve their lives through rehabilitation, education, employment and integration into economic and social life.
Well-known for its reputation and efficiency, Vietnam Red Cross’ extensive network reaches every communes in 63 provinces of Vietnam to work closely with disabled people and to assist them in the most effective ways possible. Red Cross provides disabled people with direct assistance programs such as micro finance, credit loan projects, rehabilitation, health care and compassion house contruction.
In 2010, joining the LIB campaign as a technical partner, Vietnam Red Cross from national to local level is carrying out an individual family assessment in each province to identify disabled people who are most in needs of immediate assistance. Local Red Cross staff is responsible to visit disabled people, interview their families, collect information, input data and maintain all of this information on a database created by Life Is Beautiful campaign.
In LIB campaign, when you want to provide direct assistance to a group of disadvantaged people with disabilities in any province, you can transfer your support directly to the provincial Red Cross account. Provincial Red Cross offices disburse the donation through their current programs to support to disabled individuals in their respective provinces.
In this way, disabled people living in poverty in every province of Vietnam will be supported in the most timely, effective and transparent way possible.
